Ever wonder what happens during a Reiki session?

Experience deep emotional healing and relaxation

First, we connect through conversation and check-in on what has been happening in your life. Whatever you feel comfortable sharing. The celebrations, the challenges, and anything that might be related to what is causing the physical or emotional issues you are experiencing.

  • Mentally and emotionally the issues could look like: trouble sleeping, trouble concentrating, irritability - zero patience, sadness, angry, resentment, and emotionally numb.

  • Physically, it could also look like: headaches, backaches, digestion issues, sciatica, neck & shoulder pain. It could be something that just happened, or you could have been dealing with it for a looooong time.


Through the conversation we create clarity on what you want to release, heal, or let go of. Stress affects us in so many ways – physically, emotionally, and mentally. In the world we live in, it is common and in fact expected to look at each symptom separately, and treat them separately. That is just the way it has been for the majority of us, me included. In your session, we get to look at the big picture. When you are ready, we transition to the table for the session.


Once on the table, you will remain fully clothed and lay on your back. From there, you have a few options to select from. The table can be heated or with no heat, and you can have a blanket if you choose. I will offer you a warm towel with aromatherapy under your neck, to be calming, invigorating, or grounding. The last option, one of the client's favorites, is a warm towel foot wrap to help ease into relaxation. It’s all your choice.


I will then start the session by lightly guiding you to relax by a mini-meditation. For the Reiki session itself, I will hold a number of different hand positions on your body, with a very light touch. I will raise my hands above your body in some locations but mostly, it will be a gentle touch. You may feel the warmth from my hands, coolness, tingling, or nothing at all. No matter what you feel, or don’t feel - it’s all good.


Reiki can support deep emotional healing and release tension and stress that is tightly held within you.


The first time I tried Reiki, I was stressed out, burnt out, and wound so tight I was about to snap…. I was working full time +, a mom of little ones, volunteering for business organizations, and popping ibuprofen like they were tic-tac’s for my migraines, digestion issues, and body aches.


When the session ended, I felt like I lost the 50 pounds of stress that was strapped to my back. I was lighter emotionally, mentally, and felt at ease for the first time in a very long time. During the session, I would feel warmth and coolness from the hands of the practitioner, but it was super relaxing. Well, it was relaxing once I stopped trying to figure out what was happening. You see, at that point in my life, I was a super-strong Type A, ‘show me the facts' kind of person, but after the session – I didn’t give a damn how it worked, I just knew it did. By how I felt.


That is the key, you will most likely notice the difference in the way you feel emotionally and mentally. Perhaps physically too, but most people notice the calming, relaxing, and “lightening” feeling.
